Renee M. Fairbanks, Attorney

Renee M. Fairbanks is the founder of Law Office of Renee M. Fairbanks, P.C. She is certified by the State Bar of California as a family law specialist.

Ms. Fairbanks has represented clients in divorce, legal separation, support, parentage, and custody proceedings in Santa Barbara County and the Central Coast for more than a decade.

Ms. Fairbanks is a tireless advocate for her clients. She has successfully represented clients in trials, evidentiary hearings, settlement conferences, and mediations. Ms. Fairbanks is in high-demand among family law litigants in Santa Barbara County and the Central Coast due to her ability to handle complex family law matters.

Ms. Fairbanks has a strong connection with the Santa Barbara County legal community. She is a member of both the Santa Barbara County Bar Association and Northern Santa Barbara County Bar Association. She is the past-president of the Santa Barbara County Bar Foundation. She is a former board member of Santa Barbara Women Lawyers. She was an adjunct professor of law at the Santa Barbara College of Law, where she taught Community Property. She is a supporter of the Environmental Defense Center, a Santa Barbara non-profit law firm, dedicated to protecting our local environment. She is also a supporter of the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County. She has authored articles in the Santa Barbara Lawyer on the issue of family law. She has also presented on family law to the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Southern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the Santa Barbara Legal Assistants’ Association.

Ms. Fairbanks is a member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and serves on its Outreach Committee. She is also a past-member of the State Bar of California’s Family Law Executive Committee. She is a fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Ms. Fairbanks is a graduate of University of California at Santa Barbara. She graduated from Santa Barbara College of Law.

Ms. Fairbanks supports various local Santa Barbara charities, including the Fund for Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Courthouse Legacy Foundation, and Animal Shelter Assistance Program in Santa Barbara. She is a past board member of Old Spanish Days, Inc., which plans and organizes Santa Barbara’s premiere festival, Fiesta.

James Fairbanks is Law Office of Renee M. Fairbanks' administrator. Mr. Fairbanks handles the firm's administrative functions and works with clients in initial intake. Mr. Fairbanks has worked in customer service in Santa Barbara for decades. He is very familiar with the Santa Barbara clientele and community.

Linda Thaure, Paralegal

Linda Thaure is the newest addition to the Law Office of Renee M. Fairbanks. She brings 5 years of experience working with document control, document productions, trial exhibits and document research. She moved to Santa Barbara 5.5 years ago from the Bay Area. She is happy to be back in Southern California.

The Santa Barbara Courthouse Legacy Foundation is dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and educational legacy of the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse.
